Sidewalk Snow Removal

As we move into fall- the days get shorter, the air gets colder, and soon winter will be here.  With winter brings snow and depending on which side of the fence you sit this is either a blessing or a curse.  No matter our point of view, we all will have to deal with the white stuff on our sidewalks, business, and properties.  The good news is that there is a lot of equipment available to you to help this often daunting task seem less frightening.

For the Home & Small Sidewalk Areas:

Honda makes several varying styles of Snow Blowers to help.  Two different styles of snow blowers are available single stage and two-stage.  A single stage style of snow blower is small and light-weight and typically uses a spinning auger to pull in snow and project it out via a discharge chute.  Since the single auger does both tasks of pulling in snow and discharging snow it works best for light, fluffy snow falls and is less efficient in heavy, deeper snow.  Single stage snow blowers tend to be lighter weight and more maneuverable. Two-stage snow throwers are better suited for heavier deeper snow falls, they typically feature a serrated auger to pull and break snow (stage one) and a impeller to launch or throw the snow out of the discharge chute (stage two).  This type of machines is heavier and less maneuverable than a single stage and often have a drive system while the single stage rely on the operator to manually push them.

For Professionals and Large Areas:

Ventrac offers three different styles of sidewalk snow removal machines, the SSV, 3400, and 4500 tractors.

Sidewalk Snow Vehicle (SSV) is a new and efficient way to manage snow and ice on sidewalks.  This dedicated sidewalk has an industry first 36” working width allowing for access in the tightest of areas.  The SSV also allows more reduction of hand labor and walk behind equipment than ever before.  It’s designed with a full arsenal of commercial quality snow removal attachments and de-icing options that are engineered to provide a system that can handle any winter storm.  With features like 8mph top speed, 4 x 4 skid-steer drive system, stainless steel hardware, 500cca high capacity battery, and high ground clearance for curbs you will be impressed with the durability and labor savings you get from the Ventrac SSV.
